History of Pennsylvania

Pennslyvania was started by Europeans. It was ran by a gruop of American indians,however the Dutch thought the had bought the land, they were the Dutch west India company. By the time 1664, the British had captured all dutch posessions in North America,with the Duke of york as authority.

Pennsylvania was part of the American revoloution and protesed away the proclomation of 1763 and Stamp Act. Pennsylvanians  sent delegates to the Stamp act Congress in 1765, when troubles continued they sent there delegates to the first Contenental Congress and it later meatings, and held the congress in Philedelphia.

Pennsylvania saw the battle of Gettysberg and were a big part of the cival war. later, in 1865 the oil was discovered in the western part of pennsylvania and was considerd an " oil boom town" which saw the Pennsylvanian Oil rush.
